Lionoil marks its twelfth birthday with a night of music headlined by Wallace, who mixes traditional jazz, blues, hip hop and soul.
Lionoil are celebrating their twelfth birthday at Sneaky Pete's on Saturday 24 October, and the night is built around Wallace. It's a club night rather than a standard gig, so the music is the focus and the dancefloor is the place to be.
Wallace takes the lead on the bill, and the night is built around her. She's known for a singular blend of traditional jazz, blues, hip hop and soul influences, so you'll hear those different threads running through the set. It's not a single-genre affair — the jazz and blues sit alongside the hip hop and soul, and the night is built around that mix. If you're into any of those, you'll find something to hold onto here.
It's a birthday night for Lionoil, so there's a bit of a milestone to it. Twelve years is a fair stretch for a club night, and this is how they're marking it. The whole thing is hosted at Sneaky Pete's, at 73 Cowgate, EH1 1JW, right in the heart of the city's nightlife. It's a familiar spot for a night out in Edinburgh, and it's where Lionoil are bringing this one together.
