Free festive craft session at the National Library of Scotland in Cowgate.
The National Library of Scotland on the Cowgate is hosting a Library Social: Festive crafts on Friday 11 December, from 10:30 until 12:00. It's one of those low-key morning sessions that fits easily around a working day or a school run, and it's free to attend.
The focus is festive crafts, so the whole session is built around making things by hand. It's a social, which means the crafting is as much about the company as it is about what you end up with. If you've spent your December rushing through a shopping list, this is a slower way to get a few handmade bits sorted for the season.
It's held at the National Library of Scotland's Cowgate site, right in the heart of the Old Town. The Cowgate is a great spot for a morning out — tucked away from the main bustle of the Royal Mile, it's a bit quieter and keeps you close to plenty of cafes if you fancy a coffee before or after. The session runs from 10:30 until 12:00, so you're in and out well before lunch.
