Monthly karaoke night at The Tarbet, a Corstorphine bar and pub, open to all.
Karaoke Night is back at The Tarbet on Friday 6 November, the first Friday of the month. It's an open mic night that runs once a month, and this one is open to everyone, so you don't need to be a regular or a performer to get involved. The whole point is to take to the mic and sing along to a variety of music, with the room building up around the people who step up.
The Tarbet is in Corstorphine, at 243 St John's Road, Edinburgh West, EH12 7XD. It used to be known as the Centurion, and it's a bar and pub that keeps something going every night of the week. There's a wide selection of beers on tap, Sky Sports, Premier Sports and TNT Sports all in HD, freshly cooked pizzas, and games like pool and darts to keep you occupied between songs. It's the kind of place that works as a proper pub even when the karaoke isn't running, so you can easily make a night of it with a few drinks and some food before you take your turn.

Because it's a monthly night, it's one of those things that comes around on a predictable cycle — the first Friday of every month — which makes it easy to work into your calendar. If you're not the singing type, it's still a good spot to watch and cheer on whoever does decide to get up. Tickets can be booked via Facebook, and the night starts on Friday 6 November.
