One-to-one 60-minute sewing machine session with an experienced Hobbycraft colleague, suitable for complete beginners from age 14.
Hobbycraft in Edinburgh is running one-to-one sewing workshops, with a session on Saturday 31 October. It's a 60-minute slot where you're paired up with an experienced Hobbycraft colleague for bespoke guidance on a sewing machine. The whole thing is aimed at adults and is suitable for complete beginners, from age 14 and over.
Because it's one-to-one, you can take it wherever you're at. If you've just bought a machine and are staring at it without the fogest idea how to get it started, they can help you set it up. If you've been sewing for a while but there's a specific technique that's always tripped you up, you can spend the hour working through it. You can even send over the topics and areas you want to focus on ahead of the session, so your colleague can have things prepared before you arrive.
It's a flexible way to get a bit of professional help without having to commit to a full course. If you're a total novice, it's a low-pressure way to get your head around the basics; if you've got a specific project on the go, it's a chance to iron out the bits that are slowing you down. The session lasts an hour, and it's just you and the instructor, so you can ask as many questions as you like without worrying about holding up a group.
