One-to-one hour sewing workshop with an experienced Hobbycraft colleague to help set up a sewing machine or learn a new technique.
Hobbycraft in Edinburgh is running one-to-one sewing workshops, with a session on Thursday 29 October. It's a full hour of your own time with one of their experienced colleagues, and the whole thing is built around whatever you actually need. If you've just bought a sewing machine and it's still in the box, or you've got one that's been sitting under a bed for years and you're not entirely sure how to get it going, that's a perfect place to start. They'll walk you through the setup, show you how to thread it, and get you comfortable with the basics.
If you're already sewing but have hit a wall, it works just as well for picking up a specific technique. Maybe there's a particular stitch you can't quite nail, or a part of a project that's got you stuck. The guidance is bespoke throughout the hour, so you're not following a generic lesson plan. You can even send over the topics or areas you want to focus on in advance, which gives the colleague time to prepare and makes the session a bit more insightful. It's for anyone aged 14 and over, so it works for teenagers as well as adults.
Every week we pick 🏆 the 5 best 🏆 things to do in Edinburgh and send them to your inbox. Just one weekly email, no spam.

The session costs £28. It's worth knowing that booking at least four weeks ahead is recommended, so if you're eyeing a particular date, it's better to get it sorted sooner rather than later. The workshop is offered at 98 Hobbycraft locations across the UK, with a variety of dates and times at each store, so you're not limited to just one slot.
