Family-friendly festival with live music, activities for children, a makers market and food and drink, founded by Nathan Evans and the SAINT PHNX Band.
Heather on the Hill returns to the Royal Highland Centre on Saturday 28 August 2027. It's a family festival founded by Nathan Evans and the SAINT PHNX Band, and it's built for the whole family, aimed at festivalgoers aged five and over.
The day combines a live-music line-up with a packed programme of entertainment and activities for children, so it's as much for the kids as it is for the adults. Alongside the music, there's a makers market showcasing local artists, crafters and creative businesses, and a wide range of food and drink to keep you going throughout the day. It's the kind of event where you can spend the whole afternoon without really needing to leave the site.
This isn't a tiny affair, either. The debut edition drew around 26,000 fans and sold out, which has established it as one of Scotland's biggest new family festivals. That scale means there's plenty to do across the day, from the main stages to the smaller stalls and children's activities, so you can move between the music and the market as you like.

On the practical side, the venue is the Royal Highland Centre at Ingliston, Edinburgh, EH28 8NB. One thing to keep in mind if you're bringing the younger ones: under-16s must be accompanied by an adult aged 21 or over.
