ISH Edinburgh Comedy Awards 2026 winner Harriet Dyer brings her whimsical stand-up show 'Easily Distracted' to The Stand Comedy Club.
Harriet Dyer brings her show Easily Distracted to The Stand Comedy Club on Wednesday 26 May 2027. It's a bit of a victory lap for her: the show won Best Show at the ISH Edinburgh Comedy Awards 2026 and picked up four stars from The Standard, Chortle and The Scotsman, with The Guardian calling her 'on the verge of the big time'.
If you haven't come across her yet, Dyer describes herself as 'a very daft lady', and the show lives up to that. She calls it the latest in her 'jaunty endeavours', and the material is exactly as whimsical as that sounds. She spends her time finding the good in the world, though she finds it in some strange places: pianos made from teeth, and fish wearing the faces of people who have just had face transplants. It's the kind of comedy that doesn't really sit still, and the title Easily Distracted fits the mood.
Beyond the odd images, there's a thread of her own life running through it. She's a Laughter Lounge Award winner who likes to explore the thin line between the eccentric and the mental, drawing on the weird and wonderful things that happen to her. The reviews back up the 'instinctively funny' label Steve Bennett gave her at Chortle, and Broadway Baby called the work 'a bundle of whimsical hilarity... a breath of fresh air'. Kevin Bridges put it more simply: 'She's got funny bones'.
