Weekly Sunday session of chilled tunes and a pint at the late bar SlĂ inte Mhath in Cowgate, billed as a hangover cure.
Hair Of The Dog is the Sunday session at SlĂ inte Mhath, and it's exactly what the name suggests: a hangover cure for anyone feeling a bit ruff after the weekend. The idea is a chilled afternoon and evening to get together before the coming week with a wee pint and some chilled tunes. It runs every Sunday from 3pm to 1am, with dates listed from 11 October 2026 through to 11 September 2027.
Slà inte Mhath itself is a modern Scottish late bar in the heart of Edinburgh Old Town, serving craft drinks and cocktails. Its name comes from the traditional Gaelic toast meaning 'good health', and its motto, 'Ceol, Craic, Chaos' — music, good times and chaos — sets the house style. Hair Of The Dog rounds out the week for the venue, which keeps a full line-up of daily events going: karaoke, live music every Thursday, Cheese Pop & Charts from the resident DJ on Friday and Saturday nights, and weekly quiz nights.
