A session of chilled tunes and a hangover cure with a pint at SlĂ inte Mhath in the Old Town.
Hair Of The Dog kicks off at Slà inte Mhath on Sunday 18 October, and it's not a one-off — it runs from 18 to 25 October, with further weekly dates through to 5 September 2027. The session is billed as a hangover cure to charge up for the week ahead, pairing a wee pint with chilled tunes in the heart of the Old Town.
Slà inte Mhath is a modern Scottish late bar at 143 Cowgate, and the name comes from the traditional Scottish Gaelic toast meaning 'good health'. Its motto, 'Ceol, Craic, Chaos' — music, good times and chaos — guides the spirit of the place. It's a regular spot on the Cowgate, and Hair Of The Dog is just one part of what goes on there.
The venue's wider programme keeps things moving throughout the week: there's karaoke, live music every Thursday, and Cheese Pop & Charts from the resident DJ on Friday and Saturday nights. So if you're in for the Sunday session, you've got the rest of the week to work your way back to it.
