Over-18s scratch night of scary, spooky and Halloween stories by a collective of Scottish creatives, with all proceeds going to Cancer Research UK.
Gather Round the Campfire is coming to The Wee Red Bar on Wednesday 28 October, the first scratch night from Maudey Paude Productions. It's an autumnal evening built around a collective of Scottish creatives, and the whole thing is themed around scary, spooky, cosy-horror and Halloween-y stories. If you're into that sort of thing, it's a good way to spend a Wednesday night in the run-up to the day itself.
For those who aren't familiar, a scratch night is a bit of a workshop on stage: performers bring new, unfinished work to test it out in front of a live audience. It's less of a polished showcase and more of a first look, so you'll be seeing things in their early stages rather than a finished production. The night runs for two hours, and the bill is drawn from a collective of Scottish creatives, so it's a local affair.
There's a charitable side to it too. All the money raised from the night goes to Cancer Research UK, so your ticket does a bit more than just get you through the door. It's an over-18s event, and the whole thing is put together by Maudey Paude Productions.
