French cheese and wine pairing evening from the Edinburgh Local Wine School's 'Enjoy' series, with no previous experience required.
Edinburgh Local Wine School is hosting a French Cheese and Wine Pairing evening at Novotel Edinburgh Centre on Friday 30 October. It's a two-hour session that starts at 7:00pm, and you don't need any previous experience to join in.
The night is part of the school's 'Enjoy' series — food and wine pairing evenings they describe as being for hedonists and anyone who wants to enjoy good company, great food and delicious wines. The school itself is part of the Local Wine School Network, which they call the world's fastest-growing network of independent wine schools teaching accessible wine courses.
On the night, they'll walk you through a number of classic pairings that the home of gastronomy has to offer. The organisers frame it around the idea that cheese and wine are 'unquestionably two of the greatest things ever created by man', with France producing some of the finest examples of both. It's a guided tasting rather than a formal class, so the focus is on the pairing itself.

The session takes place in a bright, private dining area at the side of the Novotel building at 80 Lauriston Place, EH3 9DE. If you're interested in something similar, the school also runs a Scottish Food and Wine Pairing workshop at the same venue. Tickets are £47.00, and the whole thing runs from 7:00pm for two hours.
