Free 18+ bar crawl through Edinburgh's Old Town, led by energetic guides, with pre-booking required using the Meetup code.
On The Rocks Bar Crawl is running a free bar crawl through Edinburgh's city centre on Saturday 24 October, starting at Pilgrim Bar in the Cowgate. It's a weekly thing, so if you can't make this one, they're back on 31 October, 7 November and 14 November, all starting at 19:15. The crawl takes you through at least five bars and clubs in the Old Town, with energetic guides leading the group and introducing people to one another along the way. A photographer spends the night capturing the crowd, and the organisers run a WhatsApp group for drink deals and five-minute warnings before the group moves on.
On The Rocks describes itself as the number one nightlife experience on TripAdvisor in Edinburgh and Brighton, and number two in Barcelona and Melbourne. The public crawl is strictly 18+, and you'll need a valid driving licence or passport to get in. There's a dress code to keep in mind: tracksuits, team strips, flip-flops, singlets, shorts and beachwear aren't allowed. If you're looking for something for a larger group, private bookings are available for stag or hen dos and same-sex groups of six or more, as those aren't permitted on the public crawl.
Every week we pick 🏆 the 5 best 🏆 things to do in Edinburgh and send them to your inbox. Just one weekly email, no spam.

Getting in for free is a bit of a process, so it's worth sorting in advance. You'll need to pre-book a ticket at www.ontherocksbarcrawl.com using the code 'MEETUPFREE' and make sure you talk to the guide before 19:30. If you turn up without that, it's £25 on the door. The crawl starts at 19:15 at Pilgrim Bar, 3 Robertson's Close, Cowgate, Edinburgh EH1 1LY, and runs into Sunday 25 October.
