Festival party closing the Spotlight Geração 80 strand of the Jali Film Weekender 2026 at Lochrin Rooftop Bar.
Spotlight Geração 80 closes with a party at Lochrin Rooftop Bar on Friday 30 October, running from 20:30 until 00:30. It's the final night of the Spotlight Geração 80 strand, which is part of the Jali Film Weekender 2026. This year's weekender runs under the theme 'Rebellion', and the party is the send-off for that particular strand.
If you've been following the programme, the night follows the UK premiere of My Semba (Meu Semba), one of the films screened as part of the strand. The party itself is the closing act for a series of screenings and masterclasses that have been spread across Filmhouse Edinburgh and the Lochrin Rooftop Bar throughout the weekender, so it's the point where the cinema side of things gives way to the dancefloor.
That strand—Spotlight Geração 80—is one of several running during the Jali Film Weekender, and this party is the one that wraps it up. The whole thing sits within the broader 'Rebellion' theme that's tied the 2026 edition together, and the party is the final word on that particular thread. It's the kind of night that works best if you've spent the preceding days at the screenings and masterclasses, but it stands on its own as the closing party for the strand.
