Annual Dusherra festival of the Scottish Indian Arts Forum on Calton Hill, with cultural performances, Indian food stalls and children's arts and crafts.
Dusherra returns to Calton Hill on Saturday 24 October, the flagship annual event of the Scottish Indian Arts Forum. It's a day for families, friends and communities to come together and mark the triumph of good over evil, and this year it's back on the hill for 2026.
The afternoon fills the space with cultural performances, Indian food stalls and arts and crafts activities for children. It's a broad mix, so it works as a family outing as much as a place to just wander through and see what's on. The Consulate General of India in Edinburgh is inviting Indians and friends of India to share in the celebration, and the whole thing is open to anyone who wants to drop by.

If you're heading up, it starts at 2pm at Calton Hill, Edinburgh New Town, EH7 5AA. Entry is free and there's no registration required, so you can just turn up when you fancy. It's a good one to keep in mind for a Saturday afternoon in October.
