Electro-acoustic duo Dogshow, dressed as poodles and playing from a 'Dog-Trolley', bring their 360-degree interactive techno show to The Mash House.
Dogshow play The Mash House on Sunday 22 November, with support from Operation Wolf. If you've never come across them, it's a good place to start: they're an electro-acoustic duo made up of brothers Laurie and Sam Crombie, and they take the stage dressed as full-bodied poodles. They lean right into the absurdity of it, too, with a live show they describe as part space-age cabaret, part animalistic ritual.
Musically, they fuse live techno, jazz and dance musicianship, and the set is built around a 360-degree interactive format. Rather than playing from a stage at the front, they perform from a battery-powered 'Dog-Trolley' parked in the middle of the audience, around which they conduct a ritualistic 'howling at the moon' ceremony. It puts them right in the thick of the crowd, so you're surrounding them rather than watching them from a distance.
They've been playing the festival circuit across the UK since their debut album, Coming Out Canine, and this is one of their Edinburgh dates. The support comes from Operation Wolf, so there's a full night's bill rather than just the headliner.
