A hilarious family musical based on the worldwide bestselling book series by Dav Pilkey, following the adventures of the crime-biting hero Dog Man.
Dog Man: The Musical comes to the Festival Theatre from Friday 5 to Sunday 7 March 2027, a family show based on the bestselling book series by Dav Pilkey, who also wrote Captain Underpants and Cat Kid Comic Club.
The story follows best friends George and Harold, now ten, as they write a musical about their favourite character, Dog Man: a crime-biting hero part dog, part policeman and all hero, with the head of a dog and the body of a policeman, who loves fighting crime as much as chewing on the furniture. The plot sends him saving the city from Flippy the cyborg fish and his army of Beasty Buildings while hunting Petey, the world's most evil cat, who has cloned himself to take revenge on the doggy do-gooder. It's a family-friendly production that brings Pilkey's playful world to the stage with larger-than-life characters, bright visuals and a fast-moving format aimed squarely at families and younger audiences, and it's won praise from critics and the creator himself.
