Hour-long, hands-on science session for curious 6-12-year-olds at Dynamic Earth, held every Saturday during term time.
Dino's Science Club is back at Dynamic Earth on Saturday 31 October, one of the family science clubs the venue runs for curious 6-12-year-olds. It's put on by their Learning and Engagement team, and each hour-long session is built around experimenting, investigating and following a passion. The themes range from ancient worlds to space exploration and the secrets of our planet, so it's less about one specific topic and more about the doing.
The approach is intentionally messy, fun and supportive, pitched not just at budding science experts but at anyone who likes to explore, craft and discover how the planet works. The team provides resources to support children with additional needs, too. While an adult has to stay in the building during the session, you don't have to sit in on it — you can use the hour to catch a Planetarium show or a treat at the café. Dynamic Earth itself is Edinburgh's world-class science centre, which tells the epic story of planet Earth through immersive galleries and a 6K planetarium. The venue also runs Dynamos Science Club for 4-6-year-olds and Dynamites Science Club for under-4s, so there's something for the younger ones in the family as well.
