Charity fun run and walk of about 9 km from The Athletic Arms to Diggers Leith, with registration from 11:00 and a free pint at the finish.
Diggers Dash is a charity run and walk on Saturday 24 October, starting at The Athletic Arms (Diggers) in Edinburgh. It's organised by Stewart Brewing together with the National Deaf Children's Society, and the whole thing is a non-timed affair, so you can run it or walk it at whatever pace suits you.
The route covers about 9km from The Athletic Arms (Diggers) at 1-3 Angle Park Terrace, EH11 2JX, and takes you across the city to Diggers Leith. Along the way, you'll pass through Roseburn, the Water of Leith Walkway, Dean Village, Stockbridge, Canonmills, Bonnington, and finally into Leith. It's a good stretch of the city to see in one go, and because it's not timed, there's no pressure to keep up with anyone else.
That's the point of the day: there are no timing chips, no race numbers, and no prizes for whoever crosses the line first. Everyone just goes at their own speed. Your entry fee goes to the National Deaf Children's Society, and when you reach Diggers Leith, you're greeted with a free pint of Stewart Brewing beer. There might be some random surprise prizes along the way, too.
