Circus workshop led by Circa for artists, part of Capital Theatres' Open for Creatives strand.
Circa are running a circus workshop at the Studio Theatre on Wednesday 28 October, and it's aimed at artists. It's a free session, though you'll need a ticket to get in.
The workshop is part of Capital Theatres' 'Open for Creatives' strand, which is their dedicated programme for artists living and working in Scotland. The whole thing is built around supporting people at every stage of their career by giving them space, resources and opportunities to grow and experiment. It's not just a one-off, either: the programme runs workshops, a seasonal 'Open Floor' scratch night for showing new work, and 'Open to Ideas' R&D residencies. They also commission new Scottish musicals through the Musicals Commissioning Hub, which they run in partnership with Pitlochry Festival Theatre.
That sits alongside the venue's wider 'Take Part' creative engagement programme, which is about opening the doors to everyone and finding ways for people to get involved and connect with theatre. That side of things includes a dementia-friendly programme, heritage tours and work with schools and young people. So, while this particular workshop is for artists, it's part of a much larger effort to keep the theatre open and active for the city.
