Festive two-hour cheese and wine tasting pairing seasonal cheeses with Port, Champagne, Franciacorta and Alsace wines at the Novotel Edinburgh Centre.
The Local Wine School is running a Christmas Cheese & Wine Pairing at the Novotel Edinburgh Centre on Friday 4 December, a festive take on their regular cheese and wine evenings. It's a two-hour tasting that pairs seasonal cheeses with a few different wines: Port with Stilton, Champagne with Chaource, Franciacorta with Taleggio, and Alsace Gewurztraminer with Munster. If you need them, gluten-free crackers are available on request.
The school is part of the Local Wine School Network, which describes itself as the world's fastest-growing network of independent wine schools teaching fun, accessible wine courses at all levels, and has been featured in The Daily Telegraph and Time Out Magazine. This particular evening is aimed at anyone who loves cheese and wine as 'two of the greatest things ever created by man', and you don't need any previous experience to join in — the focus is on the company, the food, and the wines rather than the technical side of things.
