Festive film club with bean bags, movie-themed snacks, soft play and a chance to meet Santa at Scottish Gas Murrayfield.
The Children's Christmas Cinema Club is taking over Scottish Gas Murrayfield on Sunday 6 December, turning the rugby stadium into a family festive venue for the morning. It's not just a screening: they've set up a cosy beanbag area for the film, movie-themed snacks like popcorn and hot chocolate to munch on, and a soft play area for the little ones to burn off steam while the movie is on. There's also a chance for the kids to meet Santa.
If you're not familiar with the venue, Scottish Gas Murrayfield is in the west end of the city on Roseburn Street, the home of the Scottish Rugby Union. It's where most of Scotland's home test matches happen, along with the Scottish Hydro Electric Cup final and Pro12/Heineken Cup games. Its all-seater capacity was reduced from 67,800 to 67,144 to make room for the largest permanent big screens in the country, and it remains the largest stadium in Scotland and the sixth largest in the UK. Beyond rugby, it's hosted American football, rugby league, association football and music concerts, including the Edinburgh 50,000 - The Final Push as part of Live 8.
