Award-winning radio host and stand-up Charlie Baker brings his new over-18s show 'Go Get It' to The Stand Comedy Club.
Charlie Baker is back at The Stand Comedy Club on Tuesday 9 March with his new show, Go Get It. If you've come across his name before, it's probably from the radio: he's a long-standing presenter on talkSPORT and Virgin Radio, and he's won awards for his work there. But on stage he shifts gear into a full-throttle entertainment experience, built on sharp observations and infectious energy.
Beyond the radio, Baker has a fair bit of TV under his belt. He's appeared in EastEnders and Doctor Who, and has been part of The Last Leg and Parenting Hell. He also took home a win on House of Games, so there's a good mix of stand-up, acting, and presenting to his name. Go Get It is a brand new show, and it runs for around 100 minutes.
It's strictly for over-18s, so keep that in mind if you're planning a group. The Stand itself is at 5 York Place in Edinburgh New Town, and it's been around since 1995, when it started as a hobby for a few comedy enthusiasts. It's grown into a commercial company with three purpose-built venues across Edinburgh, Glasgow and Newcastle, and it's still focused on developing new comedy in Scotland. Many performers and critics consider its rooms some of the best comedy venues in the world.
