A concert featuring the Grammy-nominated fiddle, banjo and guitar player Bruce Molsky and the bluegrass fiddle virtuoso Darol Anger at the Traverse Theatre.
Bruce Molsky and Darol Anger play the Traverse Theatre on Wednesday 21 October, 8:00 pm. It's a double-fiddle bill, and the two of them have been playing together for years, often crashing each other's concerts and recordings. They describe themselves as musical explorers who find a lot of joy in playing together, and this is one of those nights where they're sharing a stage.
Molsky is a Grammy-nominated fiddle, banjo and guitar player and singer, and No Depression called him 'an absolute master' of the Southern Appalachian songbook and global musical traditions. A Bronx native, he spent time in the Appalachian Mountains soaking up American old-time music, blues and traditions from other cultures, and he now teaches as a Visiting Scholar in Berklee College of Music's American Roots Music Program. He's a founding member of the supergroup Mozaik, alongside Andy Irvine and Donal Lunny, and he played as a special guest on Mark Knopfler's album Tracker.
