Annual Halloween afternoon at Bridgend Farmhouse with music, facepainting, spooky stories, a lantern-making activity and a best costume prize.
Bridgend Farmhouse is hosting its annual terroriffic Halloween party on Friday 30 October, from 5 pm to 7 pm. It's a family affair, billed as suitable for all ages, so it works as a late-afternoon thing rather than a late-night one. The main draw is the fancy dress competition, with a prize for the best costume, which should be enough to get the kids (and the adults) putting some effort into their outfits.
Across the two hours, the room fills with music, facepainting, and spooky stories, and there's a chance to make your own lantern. It's the sort of afternoon where you can drift between the different things rather than following a set schedule, and since it's on a Friday, it fits into the end of the school day. Just a heads-up: all children under 16 need to be accompanied by an adult.

On the practical side, the farmhouse car park is normally reserved for disabled users only, so you'll want to plan your arrival. Public parking is available at the Inch or at Cameron Toll, both within easy reach. The party runs from 5 pm to 7 pm at Bridgend Farmhouse, 41 Old Dalkeith Rd, Edinburgh, EH16 4TE. Entry is £4 for adults, £1 for children under 18, and £3 for neighbours card holders.
