All-ages daytime album launch by Edinburgh synth-pop duo Both Hands, with live music, performance and visuals.
Both Hands are playing Fruitmarket on Sunday 25 October, marking the launch of their debut album, Be Like A Mountain In A Moonlit Way, which came out through Lost Map Records. It's a daytime, all-ages show that mixes live music, performance and visuals, so it's one you can bring the kids along to rather than a late-night one.
Both Hands are an Edinburgh synth-pop duo. The sound comes from Hailey Beavis's distinctive vocals and surreal, confessional lyrics paired with Brian Pokora's dreamy, wonky electronic production. They describe it as landing in a strange, joyful world somewhere between synth-pop, trip-hop and experimental electronic music, and the album launch is the first time the record will be played out in full.
They're not the only ones on the bill. Accident Machine and Thundermoon are both playing, and Supper Club DJs will be on the decks, so there's a full afternoon of music rather than just a single set. With the live acts and the DJs, the music runs across the whole session.
