Big Red, the rock trio of Joseph Scarisbrick, plays a headline show at Sneaky Pete's on Cowgate.
Big Red play Sneaky Pete's on Tuesday 10 November, with the music starting at 7.00pm. It's a headline show, part of the band's current tour, and the only act on the bill.
Big Red started as the solo writing vehicle of Joseph Scarisbrick, who originally set it up as a home for songs that didn't quite fit into his other project, The Orchestra (For Now). These days he plays it as a three-piece, with drummer Charlie Hancock and bassist/vocalist Millie Kirby on the other two spots. The debut single, 'Isn't He Funny?', was described by Stereogum as building to 'grand, ragged rock catharsis', and Clash called the album of the same name 'a howl from the soul'.
