An evening of folk music with two of Scotland's foremost performers, featuring new takes on classic numbers and original material, with warmth and humour.
Anna Massie and Hannah Rarity are back together for their Christmas gig at the Traverse Theatre on Monday 7 December. They've called the run the HannAnnaRama Christmas gigs, and it's become a bit of a festive fixture for folk around here. The two of them are described as two of Scotland's foremost performers, and they've spent the last few years pairing up for these seasonal dates.
On the night, they combine forces to put new takes on classic numbers alongside their own original material, played with warmth and humour. It's not a formal concert — the set is built around the two of them working together rather than taking turns, and the festive spirit is as much a part of it as the music. The whole thing is part of the Traverse's £1 Ticket Project, so it's one of those nights that's easy to bring people along to.

The gig is in the Traverse Bar, at 10 Cambridge Street, EH1 2ED. Doors open at 7:30pm and the music starts at 8pm, so you've got half an hour to get a drink and find a spot before they kick off. Tickets are £20, and under-18s need to be accompanied by an adult.
