Alternative Halloween night out with spooky cabaret acts, live bands, games, tarot readings and a witch's brew bar in a gothic church.
Altar takes over Assembly Roxy on Saturday 31 October, an alternative Halloween night run by Midnight Alt Events. It's held inside a historic gothic church at 2 Roxburgh Place, and the evening is built around spooky cabaret acts, haunting live bands, games and ritualistic revelry.
Beyond the main stage, there are a few optional extras to drift in and out of. A witch's brew bar serves drinks, and there's food on the night, while the crypt houses stalls from local artists. If you're in the mood for something a bit more personal, there are tarot readings too. Costumes are encouraged, and there's a Best Dressed prize on the night, so it's the kind of evening where turning up in character is half the point.
