All My Friends are bringing their day disco to Cabaret Voltaire on Saturday 5 December, starting at 2:00 PM. The Edinburgh date is presented by DJEdinburgh and takes place in the venue's basement on Blair Street.
All My Friends is also known as Dancing With Dave, and this particular run marks the project's tenth birthday. To celebrate a decade of dancing, it's heading out on tour, taking the show beyond London and Manchester and bringing the bangers to the bars and basements of the UK in a series of intimate day discos. The Edinburgh stop is one of those, with the basement of Cabaret Voltaire serving as the room for the afternoon.
If you're not familiar with the name, the day disco format is exactly what it sounds like: a dance party that gets going in the afternoon rather than late at night, so you're on the floor while it's still light outside. The tour is built around that — a run of smaller, basement-style rooms across the country rather than big clubs, with the Edinburgh date fitting right into that. It's a ten-year anniversary on the books, so the whole thing is a celebration of the project's first decade.
