Festive folk supergroup A Winter Union plays reimagined winter classics and Yuletide songs at the Traverse Theatre.
A Winter Union play the Traverse Theatre on Sunday 13 December, part of their UK tour this winter. They're a folk supergroup of five leading lights of the UK folk scene, and they've reconvened every December since a one-off pilot in 2015 to share their Christmas party with audiences across the country. The set is built around reimagined winter classics from both sides of the Atlantic, alongside little-known Yuletide gems and songs written by the five members themselves, all of whom are critically acclaimed songwriters.
This year's tour comes on the back of their third studio album, Through The Western Door, released in December 2026. It's their biggest live show to date, and the reviews have been warm: Songlines called it "the only Christmas album you'll ever need", and Matthew Bannister of Folk On Foot described them as "a festive folk supergroup".
