Concert by the Wendy Clark Band, a Colorado retro-futuristic new wave rock band, as part of the Great American Brew Fest.
The Wendy Clark Band plays Monolith Brewing on Saturday, October 10, as part of the Great American Brew Fest. It's a free show, starting at 4 PM.
If you've been around the Denver scene for a while, the name might sound familiar. The Wendy Clark Band has been going since 2011, and it's an extension of Tequila Mockingbird, the band that played the city from 1996 to 2011. That means there's a good deal of Denver history behind this one. Wendy Clark fronts the group, handling guitar, vocals, and songwriting, with Chris Coward on bass and vocals and Mark Hendrickson on drums.
They describe their sound as retro-futuristic new wave rock, and the range they cover is pretty wide: jangle pop, rock, Americana, indie rock, new wave, and power pop. It's a lot of ground for one band to cover, but that's the point—it's a sound that pulls from a few different eras and styles at once. The set will feature the Wendy Clark Band, with Tequila Mockingbird and Wendy Clark also on the bill.
