The 30th anniversary tour of the iconic Irish dance show Riverdance, featuring new choreography, costumes and a new generation of performers.
Riverdance comes to the Buell Theatre from March 23 to 28, 2027, as part of its 30th-anniversary tour. The Denver Center for the Performing Arts is the official presenter and ticket source, and the show runs about two hours with an intermission.
If you're not familiar with the history, Riverdance first hit the world stage as a fusion of Irish and international dance and music, composed by Bill Whelan and produced by Moya Doherty. It went on to win a Grammy and became a global cultural phenomenon. This particular tour, directed by John McColgan, updates the original with new choreography, new costumes, and state-of-the-art lighting, projection, and motion graphics. The title, The New Generation, comes from the performers on stage: every one of them was born after the show first premiered 30 years ago. McColgan describes it as a global cultural phenomenon that's evolved while staying true to its roots.
