A tribute concert where The Motet performs the music of Jamiroquai, supported by Diggin Dirt.
The Motet are taking over Cervantes' Masterpiece Ballroom on Friday, October 30, for a tribute to Jamiroquai. It's a full-band night, and they're bringing Diggin Dirt along to open the bill. The whole thing is a tribute to Jamiroquai, so the set is built around that sound rather than The Motet's own material.
If you're not familiar, Jamiroquai is the acid-jazz and funk outfit led by Jay Kay, known for blending disco, R&B, and a heavy dose of dancefloor-ready groove. The Motet is a Denver staple that lives in that same pocket—funk, soul, and jazz—so they're a natural fit for a night like this. Instead of their usual set, they'll be working through Jamiroquai's catalog, and Diggin Dirt will be there to get things moving before they take the stage.

It's a Friday night show, and since it's October 30, it falls the night before Halloween, so it's an easy one to build a whole night around. The venue is Cervantes' Masterpiece Ballroom, 2635 Welton Street, in the RiNo area, and the music starts at 8 PM. Tickets are $2, so it's a low-stakes way to spend a Friday night if you're into funk.
