Tony Award-winning new musical based on F. Scott Fitzgerald's classic novel, bringing the Roaring Twenties to life on stage.
The Great Gatsby comes to the Buell Theatre in downtown Denver from April 6 to 18, 2027. It's a Tony Award-winning musical adaptation of F. Scott Fitzgerald's novel, and it's the first time the story has been brought to the stage. The plot follows the eccentric millionaire Jay Gatsby, who stops at nothing to get back the love of his youth, Daisy Buchanan. It's set against the lavish backdrop of the Roaring Twenties, and the production is described as a Broadway extravaganza that brings that era to life with a grand design suited for the 21st century and an electrifying score that blends jazz and pop.
Behind the scenes, the show is directed by Marc Bruni, with choreography by Dominique Kelley, a book by Kait Kerrigan, and an original score by Jason Howland and Nathan Tysen. The whole thing runs about two and a half hours, including one 20-minute intermission, and it's presented by the Denver Center for the Performing Arts, which is the official ticket source.
