A concert tribute to Karen and Richard Carpenter with a full band and storytelling, performed with a full band and heartfelt storytelling.
The Carpenters Songbook: A Live Celebration plays at the Buell Theatre on December 3 and 4, 2026, both nights starting at 7 PM. It's a tribute to Karen and Richard Carpenter, and it's a new production from the same creative team behind The Simon & Garfunkel Story.
The show brings the duo's music back to the stage with a full band and storytelling woven throughout. It's billed as a love letter to the two of them, and it leans on the warmth and musical brilliance of the originals. You'll hear the songs most people know by heart, like "We've Only Just Begun," "Close to You," and "Rainy Days and Mondays," and the production invites the audience to sing along with them.
