Saturday Latin night with bachata and salsa dance classes, a live Latin band and DJs spinning Latin hits at La Rumba.
Sábados Sabrosos is back at La Rumba on Saturday, October 17, and it's one of those nights where you can start as a complete beginner and end the evening on the dance floor. The whole thing kicks off at 7 PM, and the first few hours are all about getting your feet moving before the party really takes over.
It starts with a bachata class at 7 PM led by Sebastian James, so if you've never danced it before, that's your window to pick up the basics. An hour later, at 8 PM, Rafael Salsero takes over for a salsa class. Between the two, you've got two hours of instruction back-to-back, which means you can walk in knowing nothing and leave with a handle on both styles before the dance floor opens up for the rest of the night.
Once the classes wrap, the energy shifts. A live Latin band takes over the room, and DJs keep it going with Latin hits throughout the night. It's a full-on dance party that runs well past the lessons, so you can put what you just learned into practice right then and there.
