Club night featuring Maceo Plex with direct support by Doc Martin, presented by Whirling Dervish Productions.
Maceo Plex headlines ReelWorks Denver on Friday, October 9, with Doc Martin on direct support. The night is presented by Whirling Dervish Productions, which has been staging underground electronic dance events in Denver for over a decade, born from a collaboration between The Brown Elvis Presents and Mental of the Fantastic Hosts.
Maceo Plex is one of electronic music's most commanding underground forces, an artistry that emerges from a mechanical alien host known as Maetrik. Doc Martin, called "The Doc," began his mission on the decks in the summer of 1986, drawn to house music rooted in funk and disco while playing the club and warehouse scene in San Francisco. He became one of the major figures in laying the foundations of a strong West Coast dance scene and is known for long, eclectic sets that span deep house, acid, funk, tribal and classics, with appearances at New York's Twilo and Liverpool's Cream and remixes for Nervous Records.
