Pianist Jack Dunlevie leads a trio through a collection of original works and compositions in a jazz setting.
The Jack Dunlevie Trio plays Nocturne Jazz & Supper Club on Wednesday, October 14. The set is built around Dunlevie's own writing—a collection of original works and compositions rather than a night of standards. He's joined on bass by Seth Lewis and on drums by BK Kahn.
Dunlevie is a Denver pianist, mandolinist, vocalist, and composer who graduated from the Lamont School of Music at the University of Denver in 2015, where he picked up awards in composition and recital performance. He works full-time around Colorado and tours nationally, playing jazz, classical, salsa, and bluegrass both as a sideman and as a leader. That range comes through in the trio's bill: original works and compositions, with Dunlevie leading the group.
