A conversation with artist Peaches, moderated by MCA Denver's Mark G. Falcone and Director Anthony Kiendl, exploring her work in music, film and performance.
Peaches is coming to MCA Denver on Wednesday, October 14, for a conversation at the Holiday Theater. She'll be talking with the museum's director, Anthony Kiendl, and Mark G. Falcone. It's not a concert, but a chance to hear her talk about the ideas behind her work and her approach to art and activism.
Most people know her from The Teaches of Peaches, the 2000 debut that brought her international fame and the single "Fuck the Pain Away." In the two decades since, she's put out five more albums, won the Polaris Heritage Prize, and collaborated with Iggy Pop, Christina Aguilera, Kim Gordon, and Yoko Ono. Her songs have appeared in Lost in Translation and The Handmaid's Tale.
Her work has moved well beyond music. She's directed more than 20 videos and wrote the electro-rock opera Peaches Does Herself, which was adapted into a film that has played at over 70 festivals. She still performs her one-woman show, Peaches Christ Superstar. Two documentaries came out about her in 2024, and this year she released No Lube So Rude, her first full-length album in over a decade.
