Second edition of the stoner rock, doom and heavy psych festival HUFR Fest, headlined by Fireball Ministry, at Bar 404.
HUFR Fest returns to Bar 404 from Friday, May 14, through Sunday, May 16, 2027. It's the second edition of the festival, which takes its name from The Heavy Underground Farm Report—pronounced 'huffer'—and was started by Sean Brooks, Andrea Thomas-Brooks, and Zeth Pedulla. The inaugural event went off last April, drawing fans and artists from across the U.S., and the organizers are billing this one as bigger, louder, and heavier, with at least two international bands on the bill.
Fireball Ministry headlines the weekend. They're a heavy rock stalwart that reissued The Second Great Awakening through Ripple Music and put out Remember the Story in 2017. The rest of the lineup fills out the three days: Florist, HolyRoller, Formula 400, Phantom Hound, LungBurner, Crop, Valomierda, Solace, Luna Sol, Demons My Friends, Godzilla Was Too Drunk To Destroy Tokyo, Deer Creek, Gypsy Wizard Queen, They Watch Us From The Moon, MotherTomb, Erosions, and Sea Of Flame. It's a long list, and the music stays in a specific neighborhood: stoner rock, doom, heavy psych, sludge, desert rock, and fuzz. The organizers say they hope it grows into one of North America's premier gatherings for riff-driven music.
