A hands-on Halloween celebration at the Children's Museum of Denver featuring a Monster Mash Circus, sensory sand potions, carnival games, and meet-and-greets with live creatures.
Harvest Hoot runs from October 23 to 25 at the Children's Museum of Denver at Marsico Campus, the museum's annual Halloween celebration. It's a hands-on fall event built around the museum's kid-powered learning philosophy, and they encourage everyone to come in costume. The main attractions are the Monster Mash Circus, sensory sand potions to concoct, carnival games, and spooky stuffies to make. There's also a cranberry bog to explore, meet-and-greets with live creatures, and activities in The Teaching Kitchen.
Beyond the Halloween additions, the museum itself is a water-filled urban playground. You'll find a physics playground, a pretend veterinary clinic, Fire Station No. 1, a farmers market, an art studio, and an outdoor Adventure Forest. One thing to keep in mind: there's no trick-or-treating here. And if you're planning on the Adventure Forest, there are costume restrictions for climbers—no masks, no hanging accessories, no props, and bulky costumes might require an extra set of clothing.
