Jazz-pop show by Emma Nissen, who blends gospel and jazz in her 'Jesus and Jazz' style, at Swallow Hill Music.
Emma Nissen plays Swallow Hill Music on Saturday, October 17, in Daniels Hall. She's a 25-year-old jazz-pop artist who describes her sound as "Jesus and Jazz," and this is part of a tour that's taken her across North America and Europe.
Nissen first caught on when a reel of her scatting on her Christian song "Breathe" went viral in late 2023. Since then, her videos have racked up more than 200 million views, and her Instagram following jumped from under 10,000 to over 850,000. That momentum brought her to the attention of Lauren Daigle, SZA, Meghan Trainor, and Queen Latifah, as well as Emmy and Grammy winner Adam Blackstone, who invited her to play with his band at The Blue Note in New York City. Blackstone also produced her chart-topping single and album title track, "Love Like You."
Her album Moved came out in June 2026, and the tour it's been fueling has seen her sell out venues across North America and Europe. She's also represented by producer Seth Mosley. The show is at Swallow Hill Music, a Denver nonprofit founded in 1979 that presents concerts, teaches music classes for all ages, and runs community outreach through its Julie Davis School of Music.
