Concert by the indie rock'n'roll band Dog Party, with support from Record Thieves and Life Lately.
Dog Party play Black Sky Brewery on Tuesday, October 13, with support from Record Thieves and Life Lately. It's an all-ages night, so you can bring the kids along if that's your speed.
Dog Party is a California indie rock'n'roll band fronted by sisters Gwendolyn and Lucy Giles, who hail from Sacramento. They've been active since 2007, have put out six records, and have toured extensively. In the fall of 2016, they were the special guest on Green Day's Revolution Radio North American tour, which puts their reach in perspective if you're just getting to know them.
Their sound draws comparisons to The Go-Go's, The Ramones, The White Stripes, and The Runaways, and they describe it as a west coast sound built on a dash of punk and a sprinkle of pop. That mix sits right in the indie rock'n'roll wheelhouse—enough grit to keep it from being too sweet, and enough pop to keep it catchy. With two opening acts on the bill, Record Thieves and Life Lately, the night will be a full run of live music rather than just a single set.
