Run of the Broadway hit 'Dear Evan Hansen' at the Arvada Center's Main Stage Theatre, with audio-described and ASL performances.
Dear Evan Hansen runs at the Arvada Center from March 26 to May 9, 2027, playing on the Main Stage Theatre. It's a Broadway hit that took home six Tony Awards and a Grammy, and this production brings it to the Arvada Center for the Arts and Humanities.
The story follows Evan Hansen, a socially awkward teenager who finds himself at the center of a community's attention after a sudden death. He uses a small lie to become somebody else, and from there the show works its way into the need to belong in a modern world that's hyper-connected and disconnected all at once. It's a look at mental health and growing up, with a book by Steven Levenson and music and lyrics by Benj Pasek and Justin Paul.
There's a fair amount of heavy ground to cover here. The show contains mature content centered on mental health issues and teenage suicide, and the venue advises that children aged 14 and over are welcome. No children in laps, seat sharing, or infants in carriers or arms. If you're looking for accessible options, audio-described and ASL performances are also offered.
