The Denver Art Museum's signature black-tie fundraising gala, now in its 44th year, honoring philanthropists Judi and Robert Newman.
Collectors' Choice 44 takes over the Denver Art Museum on Thursday, November 12, from 6 PM to 10 PM. It's the museum's signature black-tie fundraising gala, now in its 44th year, when patrons and community leaders gather each autumn to honor museum supporters and raise funds for acquisitions and programs. This year, the night honors Judi and Robert Newman.
If the Newmans' names sound familiar, it's because their generosity is felt all over the city. At the museum, the Robert and Judi Newman Family Foundation Studio has become a cornerstone of its immersive artmaking for visitors of all ages. Their name also graces the Newman Ellipse and the Newman Overlook, and extends beyond the museum to programs at the University of Denver, the Denver Center for the Performing Arts, and the Denver Botanic Gardens. They're in good company, too: past honorees include Vicki and Kent Logan, the Avenir Foundation, John and Sandy Fox, and Governor John Hickenlooper. The night has also featured acts like the Montbello Drumline and the Avett Brothers.
Leading the way this year are honorary chairs Cathey and Richard Finlon and John J. Sie, with co-chairs Sarah Anschutz, Kathie and Keith Finger, and Nicole and Craig Harrison. The gala is held in the Martin Building at 100 West 14th Avenue Parkway, so you'll be right in the heart of the museum's campus.
