Americana rock singer-songwriter Aaron Lee Tasjan performs live with special guest Madeleine Kelson at Swallow Hill Music Hall.
Aaron Lee Tasjan plays Swallow Hill Music Hall on Saturday, October 10, with Madeleine Kelson opening. The show is presented by The Colorado Sound.
Tasjan is an Americana rock singer-songwriter and guitarist who describes his sound as a shapeshifting musical journey. He draws on glam rock roots from his early days in New York, when Jimmy Iovine told him "guys in make-up don't sell records" and Lady Gaga opened for his band. He spent years as a guitar sideman, which included doing mushrooms with Bono in Ireland. He moved with his family from Orange County, California, to Ohio at age 13, then to Nashville in 2015, where he quickly landed a record deal with New West Records and released a succession of critically acclaimed albums.
His fourth record, Tasjan! Tasjan! Tasjan! (February 2021, New West Records), blends vintage pop, 90s Anglophilia, glam and 21st-century psychedelia, and he dedicated it to the alternative kids who felt "other" growing up. He was nominated for a Grammy and released Stellar Evolution in 2024. John Prine is one of his cited early influences.
