A live music tribute night to the yacht rock of the late 1970s and early 1980s, performed on the rooftop terrace of The Artisan with a full bar and light bites.
Yacht Rock Under the Stars comes to The Artisan on Thursday, October 15, a tribute night built around the yacht rock and yacht club sounds of the late 1970s and early 1980s. The whole thing is outdoors on the rooftop terrace at 2330 Flora Street, with a full bar and light bites available. They're encouraging people to dress the part in nautical attire, so if you've got a captain's hat or a striped blazer, this is the night to bring it out.
The setlist pulls from the artists that defined the sound. You'll hear "This Is It" from Kenny Loggins; "Sailing" and "Ride Like the Wind" from Christopher Cross; "Rosanna" from Toto; "Minute by Minute" and "I Keep Forgettin'" from The Doobie Brothers; "Rich Girl" from Hall & Oates; "Rikki Don't Lose That Number" from Steely Dan; and "Baby Come Back" from Player. It's a run of songs that mostly sits in that smooth, polished pocket of the late '70s and early '80s, and the night is built around that specific era.

There are two time slots to choose from: one at 6 PM and another at 8:30 PM. Each show runs 65 minutes, and doors open an hour before each one. A few things to keep in mind before you head over: late entry isn't permitted, so you'll want to be there on time. The night is for over-21s only, and you'll need a valid ID to get in. There's also a one-drink minimum, and if the weather turns, they've got a rain date scheduled. Between the two showtimes, the rooftop bar, and the nautical dress code, it's a straightforward way to spend a Thursday evening in Dallas.
