Evening tree lighting ceremony with entertainment, ice performances, hot cocoa, and festive cheer at the downtown ice rink.
The CultureMap City Rink at Main Street Garden lights its tree on Saturday, November 21, kicking off another holiday season downtown. The ceremony brings together entertainment, ice performances, hot cocoa, and festive cheer to mark the start of the rink's run, which opens on November 20 and stays open through January 5. If the weather doesn't cooperate, there's an indoor rain date set for Saturday, November 28.
Located at 1902 Main St, the rink is the only real-ice rink in downtown Dallas, tucked beneath the city's tall buildings. It's presented by Fossil and leans into a Rockefeller Center-style winter wonderland feel, with a rinkside cafe run by 1920 Rodeo Cafe. The whole thing is managed by Ice Rink Events, the nation's leading designer and operator of seasonal and special-event ice rinks.
Once the season is underway, the rink adds themed programming to the calendar: Date Skate Wednesdays, Family Movie Nights, and Shop + Skate Saturday Markets. The tree lighting is the first of those dates, and the rink stays open for skating well after the ceremony wraps.

Skating costs $18, which includes skate rental and 75 minutes of ice time. If you're planning to come back more than once, there's a $65 season pass for unlimited admission. The rink runs from November 20, 2026, to January 5, 2027.
