Together We Dance

Avant Chamber Ballet is bringing Together We Dance to the Muse Family Performance Pavilion at Klyde Warren Park on Sunday, October 11. It's a free, family-friendly afternoon of dance in the heart of the Dallas Arts District, and it's a rescheduled date: the original performance on October 3 was cut short by the weather, so this is the full showing.

The format is simple and works well for an outdoor stage: live music paired with choreography. Avant Chamber Ballet takes the lead, with both their company and their trainees performing, and pianist Kamilya Akhemtova providing the live accompaniment. The bill mixes them with several guest companies from across the city, so you'll see a few different styles of dance side by side in one afternoon. Joining them are Ballet Frontier, Bombshell Dance Project, DBDT: Encore!, Grackle Dance Collective, and Pegasus Contemporary Ballet.

Because it's an outdoor show, it's easy to bring the kids along. The mix of companies means you'll see established local names alongside ACB's trainees, and the live piano keeps it grounded. It's a good way to catch a slice of the city's dance scene in one spot without having to track down separate shows.

Together We Dance runs from 3:00 to 4:30 PM at the Muse Family Performance Pavilion, 2012 Woodall Rodgers Freeway, and it's free and open to the public.
