Texas Ballet Theater presents The Nutcracker, a timeless tale of Clara's journey to the Kingdom of Sweets, staged with spectacular sets and iconic choreography.
Texas Ballet Theater brings The Nutcracker back to the Winspear Opera House this winter, with the first performance on Friday, November 27. It's a long run, so you've got plenty of dates to choose from: November 27 through December 6, and then again from December 11 through December 27. If you're planning a family outing, that second stretch takes you right up to the holiday.
The story is the one you know. Young Clara goes on a dreamlike journey from her family's festive home to the shimmering Kingdom of Sweets, and the production keeps the classic beats. It's staged with sets and choreography that lean into the wonder of the whole thing, and it's presented as a family tradition, so it's meant for all ages.
Behind the scenes, the production is by Texas Ballet Theater, with choreography by Ben Stevenson OBE and music by Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky. On stage, the dancing comes from Paige Nyman, Jonathan Robbins, Anastasia Tillman, and Henry Winn. Akin is the production sponsor.
